About the Initiative

Mission

This platform is an effort to connect people interested in using geospatial tools to address real-world challenges. It aims to provide a space where these projects can be shared and discovered by a broader community in order to support long-term, thoughtful collaboration on meaningful work. Ultimately, the goal is to lower the barriers to entry for anyone interested in geospatial tools and to encourage new ideas that make a difference by making ongoing efforts more visible and accessible.

Projects

Projects featured here focus on the application of geospatial data to realistic impact. They may involve mapping, modeling, visualization, or analysis using existing datasets and tools. Further project guidelines can be found under the “Lead a Project” tab.

Join the Community

This platform is in its early stages and open to anyone with an interest in applying geospatial tools to real-world problems. Whether you’re developing an idea, looking for feedback, or hoping to connect with others working on similar topics, this space is meant to support that journey.

QuantAtlas Initiative projects are entirely open-source, with all code publicly available on GitHub for transparency and collaboration. In addition, members are invited to a community-wide Discord server where they can make connections, exchange ideas, and collaborate on solutions.
